- The announcement of the arrival of the month of Shawwal will be announced soon.
- The Eid prayer will be held at 7:00 a.m.
- Breakfast will be served after the prayer.
- The amount of Zakat al-Fitr and Kaffarah
Payment of the original amount or money equivalent to three kilograms of the dominant foodstuff (such as wheat or rice) per family member to the poor.
Some religious authorities consider it necessary to calculate the price of food at the local cost of living of the person responsible.
- Suggested amounts for Zakat al-Fitr and Kaffarah
Zakat al-Fitr: $13 per person
Kaffarah for non-intentional breaking of fast: $3.5 per day
Kaffarah for intentional breaking of fast: $210 per day
- How to pay Zakat al-Fitr
Direct payment to the poor by the responsible person is preferred. However, if transferring money from Canada is inconvenient, you can donate your Zakat and Kaffarah to:
