⬅️ Eid prayer will begin promptly at 7:30 AM.
⬅️ Breakfast will be served after the prayer.

✨ Zakat al-Fitr & Kaffarah
⬅️ The obligation of Zakat al-Fitr is to give either three kilograms of staple food (e.g., wheat or rice) per person or its equivalent monetary value to those in need. Some scholars emphasize that the price should be calculated based on local market rates.

✨ Suggested Amounts for Zakat & Kaffarah
⬅️ Zakat al-Fitr: $10 per person
⬅️ Kaffarah for unintentional missed fast: Minimum $2.50 per day

✨ How to Pay Zakat al-Fitr
It is preferable to give Zakat al-Fitr directly to those in need. However, if sending money from Canada is difficult, you may donate your Zakat and Kaffarah through:

Saturday, First Day of Ramadan 1446

According to the Crescent Sighting Committee of the Shia Ulama Council of North America, Saturday, March 1, 2025, will be the first day of Ramadan 1446.

As in previous years, Tawhid Center of Calgary will be with you throughout the blessed month of Ramadan, both in person and online via our channel and website.

1- In-Person Programs

These programs will include eleven special nights, with dates listed on the event poster. The schedule features:

• Quran Juz’ recitation
• Celebration of Imam Hasan’s (AS) birth anniversary
• Laylat al-Qadr ceremonies
• Eid al-Fitr prayer

2- Online Programs

This year, we will also bring the spiritual atmosphere of Ramadan into your homes through our online broadcasts:

• Pre-dawn supplications and Fajr Adhan during Suhoor
• "Rabbi Ana" recitation and Maghrib Adhan before Iftar

📩 Ramadan Fundraising Campaign with a Goal of $23,000 📩

Greetings and best wishes for the acceptance of your prayers and worship.

As you may know, by the grace of God, Tawhid Center of Calgary is once again honored to host fasting individuals and believers during the blessed month of Ramadan. This center operates as a charitable, non-profit organization, and its ongoing expenses and events are funded through the generous donations and offerings of the devotees of Ahlul Bayt (peace be upon them).

Based on our estimates, a total of $23,000 is needed to cover the following expenses:

• $9,000 for Ramadan programs this year
• $6,000 to cover the monthly deficit ($1,000 per month for six months)
• $8,000 for replacing the heating system at the center

To meet this goal, we have launched this fundraising campaign.

We sincerely hope that, with your generous support, we can continue to provide a welcoming space for fasting individuals and help sustain the center’s financial needs.

In an expression of gratitude, we would like to thank all of you who have participated in this year's Ramadan event in any way. Here is a brief report on the financial campaign with a goal of $15,000:

• Thanks to God and your assistance, the estimated amount of donations and charities is approximately $18,335, which is significantly higher than the financial campaign's goal.

• The expenses for organizing the programs during the blessed month of Ramadan (donations, hospitality, utensils) for 9 events were approximately $8,785.

• The remaining amount of $9,550, after deducting the expenses, will, God willing, be used to cover the ongoing expenses of the center (amounting to over $3,100 per month).

With the hope of the acceptance of your prayers and worship, inshAllah, we will also host our dear believers this year in performing the Eid al-Fitr prayer (after the sighting of the crescent moon).

• The announcement of the arrival of the month of Shawwal will be announced soon.
• The Eid prayer will be held at 7:00 a.m.
• Breakfast will be served after the prayer.

- The amount of Zakat al-Fitr and Kaffarah
Payment of the original amount or money equivalent to three kilograms of the dominant foodstuff (such as wheat or rice) per family member to the poor.
Some religious authorities consider it necessary to calculate the price of food at the local cost of living of the person responsible.

- Suggested amounts for Zakat al-Fitr and Kaffarah
Zakat al-Fitr: $13 per person
Kaffarah for non-intentional breaking of fast: $3.5 per day
Kaffarah for intentional breaking of fast: $210 per day

- How to pay Zakat al-Fitr
Direct payment to the poor by the responsible person is preferred. However, if transferring money from Canada is inconvenient, you can donate your Zakat and Kaffarah to:
